This case study is different from the others on this site, and we're telling you that upfront the same way Ayrton does on camera: Nathan was less than 60 days in when this was filmed in Bali. There's no revenue transformation in this story yet. As Ayrton says in the interview, that's the next case study. This one is about what changed first, and for Nathan, it mattered more.
Nathan runs NDA Media, serving builders, trades and personal branding clients. Here's where he was before joining.
The Business Was Running Him
"I was working every single day, spending a lot of time before normal work hours and after work hours. And I have a kid, so I didn't really have time with him at that stage. Just trying to meet client deadlines, not having a set structure, getting overwhelmed with how much work is on the plate. The business was running me. I wasn't running the business."
He's honest about where he still is, which is exactly why this story is worth trusting: "I'm probably still not running the business as well as I want. I'm nowhere near there. But I've actually got the base now where I have time back."
Week One
Reaching out at all was the hard part. "I was fearful of that. But I needed a change." What came next surprised him.
"From week one we implemented changes which literally helped me spend more time with my kid. That was super powerful already, and we hadn't even made any money. It was the mindset change to start with. I didn't have direction before. The week one, week two, week three coaching calls kept me accountable, and now I have a vision where I can lead myself, my family and my team."
The Bedtime Story
Around week two or three, Nathan turned up to a coaching call with news that had nothing to do with ads or funnels: his son had asked him to read a bedtime story, for the first time in a long time. Talking about it on camera, he tears up.
"I honestly thought I signed up for business, creating leads, making revenue. That's just half the story. You've got to find yourself first. Getting back that time with the little man... it's made me so much happier for my kid. He's everything."
His wife noticed before he'd even landed home. "This morning she's like, are you on drugs? What are you doing, dude? And I said, no, I'm happy. I just can't wait to see you."
The Hamster Wheel Warning
Nathan's sharpest insight is the one most agency owners learn too late, and he learned it in 60 days:
"I was in a hamster wheel. And here's the thing: if you're at $10K a month or $20K or $30K and you're still doing those reps, you're just going to keep getting a bigger hamster wheel, and you're going to burn out. Things can really turn south if you're not careful. You can't take your life for granted."
That's why the structure came before the scaling. As this was filmed, the business side was just switching on: first week of ads live, first leads arriving in his trades niche, and his offer focused down from many to one or two. The machine starts here; the foundation came first.
His Advice If You're the Old Nathan
"Look at your family and see how you're impacting them. You may think you're doing it for them, but at the same time you're actually hurting them. Take a step back, and if you're not present with your family, you need to do something about it. For sure."
The Lesson
Most people join for the ads and the funnels. Nathan did too. What he got in his first 60 days was structure, accountability, and his evenings back, and his son noticed before any spreadsheet did. Revenue systems built on a life that's burning down don't hold. Nathan built the base first. The numbers chapter of his story is coming; this chapter is the one that makes it sustainable.
