If you're currently grinding cold outreach, this is your story. Vihan runs That Content Agency, a video production business in Sydney, about a year into the journey when this was filmed. His daily routine before joining will sound familiar to a lot of people reading this.
"Every single day I'd have an Excel spreadsheet where I was literally manually reaching out to around 30, 40, 50 businesses every single day, with basically no results at all. It was getting so tiring."
Revenue fluctuated between roughly $4K and $7K a month. He was losing confidence that it would work out at all. Here's what happened next, in his words, from the interview above filmed at one of our in-person events.
The Stubborn Skeptic
Vihan is upfront about the two things that nearly kept him stuck: he didn't trust the pitch, and he didn't like asking for help.
"I'm a very stubborn person and I don't like to reach out for help. When I first came across you I had a lot of doubts. I wasn't sure whether I could trust you guys, and whether your product actually worked. Over time I started to see the stories of other people just like me who'd achieved great results, and I decided to take that leap of faith."
What broke the stubbornness wasn't a sales pitch. It was a realisation: "No one who has a successful business has ever figured everything out themselves. They've always had a mentor, someone who's given them help along the journey. If I wanted to get to that end point, I knew I needed the right people around me."
$21K in the First Month
Vihan's edge, by his own description, is that he follows instructions and takes action.
"I got a clear system and game plan. I'm really good at just following steps, so I followed everything to a tee, and most importantly I took the action. Within a week I had everything set up, and that first month I did over $21,000 in sales. Mind you, prior to that my business was fluctuating between maybe $4K, $5K, $6K, $7K. That was a massive shift for me."
And the part that made it surreal: he joined right before flying to his sister's wedding in Korea.
"I wasn't sure whether I could actually run my business while travelling the world. While I was overseas I was on calls with clients and closed deals overseas as well. That was probably one of the coolest things that's happened to date."
The System Behind It
Asked what specifically made the difference, Vihan doesn't point at a piece of software. He points at the messaging.
"The biggest thing was the framework around my messaging: how to set up an ad that speaks directly to my dream audience, and how to structure your offer in a way that's appealing, that gets people to come to you instead of you having to go to people. That was the pivotal moment where I realised this is going to work. The best way to do business is to set the framework where you have people coming to you."
Worth noting: this isn't big-budget advertising. As Ayrton points out in the interview, the ad spend behind it runs at twenty to fifty dollars a day. The leverage is in the offer and the message, not the budget.
His Advice to the Fence-Sitters
"There is no perfect time to join. I had the belief that I'll just wait a little longer, figure it out myself, wait until I have enough cash flow to invest. But two or three months down the line you might still be in the same position, and then you've lost three, six months, even a year of growth. The worst feeling is looking back and going: what could have happened in that year? Just commit to it. You will be grateful that you did."
The Lesson
Vihan didn't lack work ethic. Fifty manual messages a day is more effort than most agency owners will ever put into outreach, and it produced almost nothing, because effort pointed at the wrong mechanism doesn't compound. The same energy, redirected into an offer and message that pull people in, produced a $21K month inside four weeks, from the other side of the world. Outreach is a treadmill. A system is an asset.
